Chairman Civolution

Alex led the creation of Civolution as a spin-out from Philips in 2008 and subsequently executed two acquisitions for Civolution: Teletrax in 2008 and Thomson STS in 2009. After initially working in the television content production industry, Alex built his professional career further at Philips. From the early 1990s Alex was involved in the digitalization of television broadcasting and held various managerial positions in project and product management, sales, marketing and business development. In 2003 Alex was appointed General Manager of Philips’ conditional access business CryptoWorks. In January 2007 Alex was appointed CEO of the Philips Content Identification. In his role as an industry thought-leader, Alex is a frequent speaker at key global events.

Managing Director and SVP, Sales & Marketing

Harrie joined Civolution in April 2011,  has headed NexGuard Sales & Marketing since 2014 and was appointed Managing Director of NexGuard in August 2015.  He started his career in advanced development of HDTV technologies at Philips. He moved on to product management, sales and general management in various high technology fields. With assignments in Singapore and Shanghai, he has over 15 years of experience in the Asia Pacific region in the digital broadcasting and mobile multimedia industries.

Jaap Haitsma

CTO

Jaap started his career in 1997 as a Research Scientist at Philips Research. For 7 years he developed algorithms for watermarking and fingerprinting of audio and video. Based on the output of this research, a business unit was formed at Philips to commercialize these algorithms, and in 2004 Jaap joined this unit as CTO to setup its own R&D department. This  business unit within Philips was spun out as Civolution in 2008. Currently Jaap serves as CTO of the NexGuard group at Civolution and leads R&D. 

Jean-Philippe Plantevin

SVP, Products & Solutions

Jean-Philippe joined Civolution in May 2015 with more than 20 years’ experience of the Pay TV and Digital TV industries. His expertise includes in-depth knowledge of Conditional Access systems, Set Top Boxes and digital video compression technologies. Among other senior executive positions, Jean-Philippe has served as General Manager EMEA at Harmonic/Divicom, SVP Worldwide Sales & Services at Nagravision (a Kudelski company) and VP International Operator Sales at Sagemcom.
Peter Heijmans

Peter Heijmans

Finance Director

Peter joined Civolution /NexGuard in August 2015.

Peter filled a number of permanent Business Controlling and Finance roles in his career, e.g. at ExxonMobil, Rhein Biotech and Kuehne and Nagel.

In more recent years, he has gained extensive experience as senior interim professional supporting corporate transition projects in the chemical, logistics and biotech industry.

Bart Versteeg

Bart Versteeg

General Counsel

Bart joined Civolution as General Counsel in March 2009 and leads Civolution’s Legal Department. He started his professional career as an Attorney at Law at the law firm of Loyens & Loeff. In 2005, he moved to Royal Philips where he assumed the role of Senior Counsel. Upon the spin-out of the Semiconductors division from Royal Philips in 2006, Bart first worked as a Senior Counsel at NXP Software and NXP Semiconductors before he was appointed as Director IP Licensing & Claims at NXP Semiconductors.
